Eduardo Zavala

Contributing Artist

Eduardo (they/he/she) is a nonbinary multidisciplinary artist based in Milwaukee, WI whose work focuses on lens-based media, video and live performance, and installation work. Zavala utilizes installation to create a new queer reality constructed from natural and artificial materials; allowing them to exist within their own constructs of gender, reshaping and liberating the way they experience the binaries. Zavala received their BFA in New Studio Practice: Fine Arts at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design in 2022. After graduating, Zavala was selected for Plum Blossom Initiative as an artist in residence for 2022/23 Bridge Work Cycle 08. In January 2023, they were selected to participate in the Museum of Wisconsin Art’s 10 at 10 show, Zavala’s first museum exhibition. Zavala was recently awarded the 2023 Spring Gener8tor Art x Sherman Phoenix grant joining the spring cohort.
